JP “Rusty” Carolan, III

Joseph (Rusty) P. Carolan, III is a shareholder in the Orlando office of Winderweedle, Haines, Ward & Woodman, P.A.  His primary practice areas are Business Law, Financing, Creditor Rights, and Real Estate and Commercial Transactions.

He graduated from Duke University and obtained his J.D. with Honors in 1974 from the University of Florida where he received the Order of the Coif, was selected Executive Editor of the University of Florida Law Review and received book awards in contracts, real property and creditors rights.  Both of his student works were selected for publication in the University of Florida Law Review.  Prior to joining the firm, he served as law clerk for the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida.

Mr. Carolan has served on the Board of Trustees of the University of Florida Law Center Association, Chairman of the Community Foundation of Central Florida, and served as Director of Barnett Bank of Central Florida N.A. and on advisory boards for Nationsbank, AmSouth Bank, and Regions Bank, as well as other private companies.

He is rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, including being named Orlando Best Lawyer Corporate Law Lawyer of the Year for 2012 as a result of particularly high ratings for abilities, professionalism and integrity.
