Vanessa J. Skinner was recently named to the Florida Trend Legal Elite Notable Women Leaders in Law list.
Florida Trend editors selected her based on stringent criteria, including her demonstrated leadership in professional organizations and civic andcommunity service initiatives, her mentorship of other attorneys, her professionalism and values in the workplace, and her experience of more than 17 years practicing law.
Vanessa is chairperson of the firm’s Wills, Trusts & Estates department, serves on the firm’s management committee and is the host of The Power of Planning podcast.
Her legal practice focuses on estate planning, special needs planning, elder law, guardianships, and probate and trust administration. She is an accredited attorney for the preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims for veterans’ benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs. She is a member of the Elder Law and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Sections of The Florida Bar, and the Estate, Guardianship and Trust Committees of the Orange County Bar Association. She has been rated “AV Preeminent” by Martindale Hubbell and was included in The Best Lawyers in America (2021-2025) in Elder Law. She also serves as a guest columnist on elder law topics for Growing Bolder multimedia and is a frequent speaker on estate planning, special needs planning and long-term care planning.
