Attorney Christopher K. Batts has joined the firm, practicing in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, and bankruptcy.
Chris brings valuable experience helping business owners navigate the sales of their businesses and advising them on a wide range of corporate matters, including exit strategies, incentive planning, corporate structuring, and risk allocation. He has also written and presented-on business topics including the Corporate Transparency Act and key considerations for negotiating a letter of intent for the sale of a business.
A native of Florida, Batts was raised in Winter Park. He earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif and served as Managing Editor of the Ohio State Law Journal. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Finance, with honors, from Cedarville University, where he also served as Chief Financial Officer of the Student Government Association.
Chris gained valuable legal experience through a judicial internship with Justice Sharon L. Kennedy of the Supreme Court of Ohio and through his work with the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., serving in the office of former Speaker John Boehner. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar.
