Syreeta McCoy

Syreeta McCoy is an associate in Winderweedle, Haines, Ward & Woodman’s Estate Planning department.  Her practice is focused on representing clients in developing their Trusts and Estates. Her work also involves the details in the development of Advanced Directives and in navigating important Elder Law planning for her clients.

Syreeta has handled legal matters for the Florida State Court Systems over the past 10 years where she worked closely with the judiciary as a Senior Staff Attorney and Staff Attorney for the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in a wide variety of matters, including the areas of criminal, civil, juvenile & family law.

Her estate planning clients benefit from her experience, education and training prior to law school in the area of social service when she was a Social Work Manager for the Public Defender’s Office of the Ninth Judicial Circuit, and a Social Worker/Case Manager for the Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center, Florida Hospital, long-term care and sub-acute nursing centers, home health care and Vitas Hospice.  Her practice affords clients her depth of knowledge from extensive experience in assisting in complex matters involving Medicare & Medicaid, health care surrogates, living wills, powers of attorney, mental health, and coordination with state agencies on a variety of matters.

Syreeta earned her Juris Doctorate from Florida A&M University College of Law. She received a Master of Social Work from University of Central Florida, a Bachelor of Social Work from Monmouth University, and is currently finishing her Master of Laws – LLM Taxation, Tax Law/Taxation from University of Florida - Fredric G. Levin College of Law.
