Nancy S. Freeman

Nancy S. Freeman is a shareholder with Winderweedle, Haines, Ward and Woodman, practicing in the firm’s Winter Park office. She practices in the firm’s estates and trusts practice area, counseling clients on estate planning and tax matters and representing clients with regard to estate and trust administration and probate. Ms. Freeman is also a member of the firm’s tax, intellectual property, corporate and real estate practice areas.

She is certified as a specialist in the area of Wills, Trusts & Estates by the Board of Legal Education and Specialization of The Florida Bar and is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. She is a member of The Florida Bar Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section Probate Law Committee and a past member of The Florida Bar Probate Rules Committee. She is a past Chair and member of The Florida Bar Wills, Trusts & Estates Certification Committee. Ms. Freeman also is a past Chair of the Estate, Guardianship & Trust Committee of the Orange County Bar Association and a past member of the Editorial Board of The Florida Bar News & Journal. She is also a member of The Florida Bar Real Property, Probate and Trust Law and Business Law Sections.

Ms. Freeman obtained her LL.M. in Taxation degree from University of Alabama, summa cum laude, as valedictorian. She obtained her J.D. degree from the University of Florida College of Law, with high honors, and received the Order of the Coif. She obtained her B.A. degree from Duke University, cum laude. While a student at the University of Florida College of Law, she was an Appellate Advocacy Teaching Fellow and Evidence Teaching Assistant and served as the Senior Articles Editor for Florida Law Review. Ms. Freeman has authored numerous articles on topics related to estate planning, probate, trust administration and health care advance directives.

From 1992-1993 Ms. Freeman was a Law Clerk for the Honorable Peter T. Fay, United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit. In 1993, she joined Winderweedle, Haines, Ward and Woodman and later became an Assistant Professor of Law at Barry University School of Law (1997-1999). In 1999, Ms. Freeman rejoined the firm and has since practiced at the firm continuously.
